A true aromatherapy classic — bright, refreshing, and energizing lemon essential oil is extracted from peels of lemons ripened under the hot Italian sun. One breath of its uplifting scent transports you to sun-drenched citrus groves, where the air hums with the sound of cicadas. Versatile and full of positivity, lemon oil tones the senses, boosts your mood, helps you wake up in the morning and restores focus when fatigue sets in.

Its crisp, clean aroma fills your home with lightness and vitality. Ideal for daily aromatherapy or cleansing rituals, it’s a scent that brings brightness to any moment. Use it in the morning to energize your day or during work to sharpen your mind. More than just a fragrance — it’s a little burst of sunshine in your everyday life.

Description

Lemon essential oil is a beloved aromatherapy staple, extracted by cold pressing from lemon peels grown in Italy. Its bright, refreshing aroma instantly purifies the air, uplifts the mood, and revitalizes the senses. More than just a delight for the senses, it’s a valuable everyday ally. The vibrant citrus scent tones the body and mind, boosts concentration, and dispels tiredness and gloomy thoughts.

Lemon oil is perfect for use in diffusers, cleansing blends, sprays, or even body care products. It can enrich liquid soaps, shampoos, and bath oils. It’s also a helper around the home — ideal for cleaning surfaces and floors or removing sticky residues. Simply add a few drops to a bucket of water or prepare a spray and your home will be filled with a fresh, lemony scent.

How to use?

Diffusion:
Diffuse lemon essential oil in an electric diffuser — it will provide your home with a wonderful aroma and purify the air. During the day, add 6–8 drops of essential oil to the diffuser, and in the evening — 3–4 drops. In the evening, be sure to mix it with non-energizing essential oils: lavender, pine, or rosewood.

Citrus synergies for different life situations:
For concentration: 5 drops of lemon + 3 drops of rosemary essential oil;

For a fresh atmosphere: 3 drops of peppermint + 5 drops of lemon essential oil;

For a good mood: 3 drops of lemon + 3 drops of orange + 3 drops of Japanese laurel essential oil;

Body care:
Make a wonderfully scented antibacterial soap! Add 20 drops of lemon essential oil to 200 ml of unscented liquid soap. Shake the container to mix the oil and soap. Enjoy!

Lemon essential oil is especially suitable for the care of oily skin and hair. This oil effectively regulates the secretion of sebaceous glands and tightens pores. You can add a few drops of lemon oil to a small amount of facial cleanser, shower gel, or shampoo. This way, the consistency of your products will not be altered.

Prepare a mood-lifting aromatherapy bath with lemon essential oil: add 5–8 drops of lemon essential oil to a teaspoon of carrier oil (e.g., sweet almond or camellia oil), then pour this oil mixture into the bath. We do not recommend bathing in such a bath for children and people with sensitive skin.

Massage:
For massages and body applications, prepare the following mixture: add 10 drops of lemon essential oil to 50 ml of carrier oil (e.g., sweet almond). Suitable for the whole family!

50 ml of sweet almond oil + 8 drops of lemon + 8 drops of pink grapefruit + 4 drops of rosemary essential oil. A massage oil blend that is suitable for people with stretch marks. The areas of the body can be massaged twice a day, immediately after a bath or shower, while the skin is still slightly damp. Not suitable for pregnant women!

Home use:
If you don’t have an essential oil diffuser, you can make a wonderfully scented spray to aromatize indoor air! Into a 100 ml dark glass bottle, add 50 drops of lemon essential oil, fill with water to the narrowing of the bottle, screw on the spray nozzle, shake, and spray in rooms as needed.

Give your home a unique aroma and extra cleanliness! Add 10 drops of lemon essential oil to a bucket of water that you plan to use to clean floors and furniture, dampen a cloth, and wipe surfaces. This is especially relevant for those who have a crawling-age baby who often plays on the floor. Important: when using this method, wear rubber gloves to prevent the pure essential oil from contacting your skin.

Lemon essential oil effectively removes glue, so it easily gets rid of various stuck-on labels.

Important!

Lemon essential oil, like other essential oils, must not be applied or dropped directly on the skin — it must be diluted in a base oil.

Lemon essential oil is not suitable for pregnant women and people with sensitive skin.

If you want to use essential oil together with shower gel, soap, or shampoo, we recommend adding the essential oil to a small amount (ideally — just the amount used in one application). This way, your products will retain their consistency.

Essential oils do not get along with plastic packaging, so it’s best to use dark glass containers to preserve the best properties of essential oils.

Warnings
  • Do not apply pure (undiluted) essential oils directly to the skin, as they may cause severe irritation or burns.
  • Do not ingest or take essential oils internally (unless prescribed by your doctor).
  • Do not add pure (undiluted) essential oils directly to bath water, as this may cause serious skin irritation or burns.
  • Never use essential oils in an inhaler. This device breaks essential oils into micro-particles that go directly into the lung alveoli. Such use can cause severe mucous membrane irritation, bronchospasm, or even chemical pneumonia.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
  • For infants and children, use only age-appropriate essential oils.
  • Use essential oils sparingly—the main principle of aromatherapy is “less is more.”
  • Keep essential oils out of sight and reach of children.
  • Store bottles in a dark, cool, and dry place, as exposure to environmental factors can alter or reduce the properties of essential oils.
